humble monkey Yoga
We are dedicated to making yoga accessible and affordable in a non-competitive, friendly atmosphere. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned yoga, our classes are a safe place to strengthen and open your body, mind and heart. We believe anyone who wants to practice yoga should have the opportunity to practice in a beautiful studio setting with well-trained, talented teachers, and to that end we have the best pricing in town and offer regular community (free or by donation) classes four times a week, as well as various community (free or by donation) events throughout the month.
Yoga practice will reduce your level of stress, increase your mental and physical fitness, and make you happy! But, the real gift of yoga practice is the opportunity it gives us to look inward, to grow spiritually, and to change our experience of life in a meaningful way by awakening our connection to it. That's what yoga means to us - connection, to our deepest self and to each other; Yoga is what we are, yoga practice is what we do. It doesn't matter what fancy poses we can or cannot get our bodies into, or even if we can touch our toes! It doesn't matter what we wear, or what kind of mat we use - yoga isn't something you can buy, since you already have it! In that spirit we do not display or offer merchandise for sale in the studio.
Our yoga practice doesn't just happen on a mat! The great Indian saint Neem Karoli Baba said "Feed Everyone." Mother Teresa said "If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one." We collect food items for the PV Emergency Food Bank as an expression of karma yoga, the yoga of action, and in gratitude for the food we have that feeds our practice. This is a completely voluntary food drive, although you can take $2 off the price of a drop-in class with a donation. It is easy to make a difference when we work together!
There is a bin at the studio for food donations to benefit the Paradise Valley Emergency Food Bank, a volunteer-run local agency that provides food boxes for the residents of the Paradise Valley Unified School District, in which the studio resides. Feel free to drop off food whenever you want, or not, there's no pressure! Also, you can take $2 off the drop-in price of $14 with a food donation.
We are a small studio dedicated to creating an environment in which you can develop your own practice at your own pace.
